Phillipe Coutinho what can he bring to Anfield

First of all I'd like to start this article by addressing Wesley Sneijders transfer to Galatasaray, my verdict is that it's a  dodged bullet for Liverpool. Yes he would have brought experience and creativity to Liverpool's midfield but with his high wage, his large ego and his sometimes lazy attitude I don't think he was a player that fits in to Brendan Rodgers vision for the Reds.

This brings me on to Coutinho the young Brazilian who is currently at Inter has been linked with Liverpool for the last couple of weeks and it is believed that an £8 million deal for the midfielder is close. Coutinho is a player that very much fits the new policy at Anfield of youth and value for money and at the age of 20 he is a player who can grow into the future of Liverpool.

It's clear that the Brazilian has some talent but he is still a work in progress, he is an exciting tricky midfielder who can bring some extra creative flair to the Liverpool team. Many people have been questioning why Rodgers is looking to bring in another midfielder when they already have Gerrard, Lucas, Allen, Shelvey and Henderson but I think Coutinho is a completely different player to those already at the club.

The young midfielder is much more of a flair player he has tricks in abundance and he can go on long mazy runs taking on players and has the ability to create all sorts of chances with a moment of magic. This type of player that can get the crowd out of their seats and excited he is the type of player which will compliment the industriousness of Lucas, Henderson and Allen and the power of Gerrard and Shelvey very well.

He may be the final piece to the puzzle with Sturridge coming in and making a bright start scoring three in his first three along with the continued good form of Suarez and the impressive Sterling Liverpool are beginning to assemble an exciting attack and Coutinho can only add positives to that.

He has shown glimpses of brilliance here and there for Inter and whilst at loan at Espanyol creating chances for his team-mates. These flashes of magic lead me to believe that if  the deal is at the rumoured fee of £8 million it will be a very good signing. At that price for the age he is there is a lot of value in that if he does reach his full potential he could become one of the best young creative midfielders in the Premiership.

There are a lot of ifs there and it is a bit of a gamble as who knows if he will reach his full potential and succeed in the more physical Premier league but for now most Liverpool fans should be excited that one of the brightest young Brazilian talents in Europe may be on the way to Anfield.
